A Message from Our Founder

Divergent Realms started from my experience as a seasoned Dungeons & Dragons player and Game Master, who happens to have a few acronyms after my name—none of which look good on a LinkedIn profile. None of the D's in my acronyms stand for doctor, but they all stand for disorder.

After moving to a new state, I struggled with the same challenge many of us face: how to find a new group when social anxiety, overthinking, and the fear of not fitting in feels worse than fighting a BBEG. For months, I’d sign up for campaigns, psych myself up, and then back out. Sometimes, I’d fake being sick—so well, in fact, that I actually got sick. Other times, I’d ghost the sign-up completely. (I mean, I have three cats, and they’re not going to cuddle themselves, right?)

Finally, I just showed up. Nervous, anxious, and unsure, I walked into a session—and everything changed. The group I found wasn’t just about playing the game—it was about being ourselves. Unintentionally, we were all neurodivergent, and it felt like a rare connection. It was the first time I didn’t have to mask since moving.

Existing as we are can be exhausting when the world expects us to mask all the time. We deserve a place where we don’t have to—where we can just be our bad ass selves. That’s why Divergent Realms was born: a space for neurodivergent individuals, by neurodivergent individuals. A place where we can embrace our authentic selves, make friends, and have fun—while rolling dice and fighting Beholders!

If you’re here, you’ve probably felt the same way. Maybe you’ve struggled to find a place where you belong. Well, this is it. At Divergent Realms, the most important rule is simple: be yourself and accept others for themselves. Whether you’re a seasoned adventurer or a total newbie, this is a space where you can feel safe and understood. We believe every neurodivergent story is a hero’s story.

Welcome, Adventurer!

People and culture

Our people are what make us unique. Rather than outsourcing our construction engineers from questionable outsourcing establishments, we provide them with an environment that supports professional growth.

We are strong believers in giving our employees a voice. Our teams have been put put together, with the help of a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), to ensure maximum productivity and engagement.

In an effort to ensure inclusivity, understanding, sensitivity, and enjoyability, all of our Game Masters have received one-on-one training from an LPC who specializes in ND.
